“Toulouse-Lautrec, Resolutely Modern”

The Grand Palais seeks to show that Toulouse-Lautrec was more than just a witness of the Montmartre years through this exhibition, running from 9 October 2019 to 27 January 2020. More than just the frivolous moments of his Belle-Époque, Toulouse-Lautrec wished to paint time, capture duration, find the space-time of an image, and freeze contemporary, modern life, the entrance into the 20^th century.
